Cerc (11-12 November, 2019)

The first Kuwait-UK cyber security education and research conference CERC’19, 11-12 November 2019 has been held in Kuwait College of Science and technology with the collaboration of the following establishments: KCST, CITRA, KU and UK government.

CERC2019 focused on two key areas of mutual interest and significance to increase bilateral research collaboration between UK and Kuwait and to enhance educational programs in the field of Cybersecurity.

CERC2019 brought together official, academic and commercial sectors in the field of Cybersecurity Research and Education from the UK and Kuwait. It also provided an opportunity for leading UK Research Institutions in the field of Cybersecurity and senior officials representing the UK’s National Cybersecurity Centre to work with other Kuwait Education Providers with a focus on computer engineering such as Kuwait University, Kuwait College for Science and Technology (KCST) and academics having a background in Cybersecurity.

CERC2019 supports the Kuwait-UK Memorandum of Understanding on Cybersecurity signed in 2017 which points to engagement in both education and research. The two particular areas of focus for CERC 2019 were to increase bilateral research collaboration between the Kuwait and UK, with a particular focus on the security of critical national infrastructure and to promote increased educational programmed focusing on Cybersecurity.
